Twitter Viewer

Got a tweet link but no X account? Paste it below and read the post right here: text, photos, video and all. No sign-up, no login wall.

Works with x.com and twitter.com post links. Public posts only.

What is XViewer?

XViewer is a simple Twitter web viewer: it lets you read public posts on X (the site that used to be Twitter) without an account.

You've probably been there: a friend sends you a tweet, you tap it, and X asks you to log in before it shows you anything. Here, you just paste the link and the post shows up. No account to create, no password to hand over.

We pull the post from the same public feed X uses for embedded tweets, the ones you see inside news articles. So you get exactly what an embedded tweet would show: the author, the full text, photos, video, and the like, repost and reply counts. If a post isn't public, we can't see it either.

How to view a tweet without logging in

You only need the link. No app, no extension, no account.
1

Copy the link

On X, tap the share icon under the post and pick Copy link. If someone sent you the link, just copy it from your chat or email. A post link always has /status/ followed by a long number.
2

Paste it here

Drop the link into the box at the top and hit View. Or tap Paste, which grabs the link from your clipboard and loads the post in one go. A plain post ID (just the number) works too.
3

Read, watch, or open on X

The post appears as a card. Play the video right there and switch quality with the buttons under it. Want the replies? Tap the X icon to open the original post on X.

What you'll see

  • The full text: Long posts are shown in full, with no Show more cut-off.
  • Photos at full size: Every image in the post shows up. Click one to open it on its own.
  • Video and GIFs: Play the clip in the page and pick the quality, from data-saver up to the best version the author uploaded.
  • Likes, reposts and replies: The counts as X reports them. They can be a few minutes behind what X shows live.
  • Want to keep the video?: Viewing here doesn't save anything. To download the video file, use our video downloader.
  • Want to keep the photos?: Same idea for images: the photo downloader saves them to your device.

What you can and can't view

You can view any public post: text, photos, video, GIFs, and the like, repost and reply counts. Links from x.com, twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com all work. So do fxtwitter.com, vxtwitter.com and fixupx.com links, since we only need the post number inside the link.

You can't view posts from protected accounts (the ones with a padlock icon) or posts that were deleted. Posts X has blocked in your country or hidden from logged-out visitors may not load either. X simply doesn't hand that content out, and we don't try to sneak around it.

A few more limits, so you're not surprised: it's one post at a time, replies are counted but not shown, threads aren't joined together, quoted posts aren't expanded, and if a post has several videos only the first one plays. Short t.co links don't work yet. Open them in your browser first, then copy the full x.com link.

Only have a username?

This page needs a link to one specific post, so a username alone won't work here. Try the Twitter profile viewer instead: type the handle and you'll see the account's name, bio, badge, and follower and following counts.

Privacy: what's hidden and what's not

You never log in to X here, and we'll never ask for your X password. The post is fetched by our server, not by your account, and X doesn't show anyone a list of who viewed their posts.

One honest caveat: photos and videos load straight from X's media servers (pbs.twimg.com and video.twimg.com), just like an embedded tweet on a news site. Those servers can see your IP address, the same as any site you visit. If that matters to you, use a VPN.

On our end, analytics only run if you say yes in the cookie banner, and the ads on the site may set their own cookies. The details are in our privacy policy.

Who uses XViewer?

Lots of people need to see a tweet without signing up for X. Reporters checking that a quote really came from a certain account. Researchers who need the exact wording of a public post. Parents and teachers looking at something a kid shared. Or anyone who quit X but still gets sent links. Each card links back to the original post, so you can always check it at the source.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does X make me log in, and why doesn't XViewer?

X shows a login prompt to a lot of logged-out visitors, especially when they scroll or tap into replies. We read the post through X's public embed feed instead of the main X site, so the single post you linked just loads.

I pasted a link and got "not found". What happened?

Usually one of four things: the post was deleted, the account is protected, X has limited the post for logged-out viewers, or the link isn't a post link. Profile, search and list links won't work. If the link looks fine, open it on X to see if the post is still there.

Can I read the replies?

No. You'll see how many replies a post has, but not the replies themselves. Tap the X icon on the card to open the post on X, where the replies are (X may ask you to log in to see all of them).

Can I see posts from a private account?

No. Protected posts are only for followers the owner has approved, and X doesn't share them with outside tools. If a site says it can show private tweets, it's either not true or it wants your login. Never give your X password to a third-party site.

I only know their username. What now?

Use the Twitter profile viewer. Type the handle and you'll get their bio and follower counts. This page only works with links to specific posts.

Are the like and repost numbers live?

Almost. We may reuse a post's data for a few minutes, so a post that's blowing up can show slightly lower numbers here than on X. Load it again a bit later for fresher numbers.

Do fxtwitter, vxtwitter or t.co links work?

fxtwitter.com, vxtwitter.com and fixupx.com links work fine. t.co short links don't. Open the t.co link in your browser first, then copy the full x.com link it takes you to.

Can I save the video I just watched?

Yes, the card has a Download video button for the quality you picked. If you want to see every quality before saving, use the Twitter Video Downloader. GIFs and audio have their own tools in the list further down.
