How to view a Twitter profile without an account

Type the person's @handle in the box above (with or without the @) and hit View Profile. You can also paste a profile link like x.com/nasa and we'll pull the handle out of it. No X account, no login.

Only know their name? Display names aren't unique, so search the name on Google with "x.com" added. Their profile link usually shows up, and the handle is the bit right after x.com/.

What you'll see on the profile, and what you won't

The profile card shows the account's display name and @handle, profile picture, bio, checkmark (if it has one), and its following, follower and post counts, plus a button to open the profile on X.

What it doesn't show: the account's tweets, or the lists of who they follow and who follows them. To read a specific tweet, paste its link into our Twitter viewer.

One thing about the checkmark: on X today, a blue check mostly means the account pays for X Premium. It doesn't prove the person is who they say they are.

Profile not loading?

A "not found" message usually means the handle has a typo, the person changed their handle, or X suspended or deactivated the account. Once in a while it's just a hiccup on our side, so give it one more try.

Privacy: what happens when you look someone up

You don't log in, and we never ask for your X password. To fetch a profile, our server sends the handle to a third-party data service that collects public X profile data. So the handle you search passes through us and that service, but never through an X account of yours.

The profile picture loads straight from X's image server (pbs.twimg.com), which can see your IP address like any site you visit. More in our privacy policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will they know I viewed their Twitter profile?

No. X doesn't have a "who viewed my profile" list, and your lookup goes through our server, not an X account. Apps that claim to show who viewed your X profile can't actually do that.

Can I view a private Twitter profile?

Partly. X shows basic details like the name and bio to everyone, even for protected accounts, so those may show up here. Their tweets stay private to approved followers, and no outside tool can show them. If a site says it can, it's either wrong or it wants your login.

How fresh are the follower numbers?

They can be up to about an hour behind, because we keep each profile's data for a while instead of fetching it for every visitor. For a fast-growing account, X itself will show a slightly higher number.

Can I see their latest tweets?

Not on this page yet. Tap the button on the card to open their profile on X, or paste a link to one of their posts into the X viewer.

Is this the same as searching on X?

Not quite. Searching on X usually means logging in first. Here you skip that, but you only get the profile card, not the full X experience.
